The Birth and Appointed Times of the Messiah © 2021, (micro version; condensed from Finding the Messiah, What the Magi Saw and Much More, full version) All seven of the most important dates in Jesus Christ’s life occurred either on one of the appointed days or feasts in Leviticus chapter 23 or on an anniversary date of a key event in Jewish history, sometimes both.  All are described in Scripture.  Four of the seven are marked with rare and symbolic Sun, Moon, and/or star alignments.  Three of these alignments are described in Scripture. Foretold in the Scriptures, marked in the stars, lived amongst His people, but lost to mankind!  How could this be?  Come and see!

About the Author
My career as a research engineer, scientist, innovator, and problem solver; 14 years prayerfully comparing biblical and historical records to back-calculated astronomy; many discoveries of astronomy events that punctuate the Messiah’s life; skilled reviewers; and numerous packed-house “Star of Bethlehem” planetarium presentations have enabled me to write this short book, part of set of five coordinated books/booklets.  Marketing plans include numerous presentations, a planetarium movie, a cinema movie, and a promotion website.

title: Blended: My Happily Ever After

author: Bridgette H

category: fiction • subcategory: children • date submitted: 2.23.2022 • author id: HaBrBl2222

word count: 6200

Content

Blended: My Happily Ever After is a fictional book for children aged 7 to 12 that tells the story of a girl named Mia whose mom is remarrying after divorce from Mia’s dad.  Mia was very young when her parents divorced, and now as a seven-year-old, she tries to come to terms with her parents’ divorce as her mom prepares to remarry.  Blended: My Happily Ever After follows Mia’s journey from being an only child to sharing Mom with her step-dad and two step-siblings. Mia ultimately learns that while family isn’t exactly what she’s seen in the fairy tales, where there is love there is family, and love is everything she needs. Although there are other books on the market that deal with issues of divorce, remarriage, and/or diverse family makeup, these books are often in picture book format, aimed at preschool-age children, or are in the form of self-help workbook for parents.  Blended: My Happily Ever After is for those older school-aged children who will find that they have lots in common with Mia or her two older step-siblings.  Additionally, although Blended: My Happily Ever After delves into divorce, remarriage, and new siblings, future stories in the Blended series will focus on other social and family dynamics such as Mia’s life as part of an interracial family, and how Mia and her family work together to cope with mental illness affecting one of her step-siblings.

About the Author

After teaching elementary school for six years, I decided to obtain my law degree and have been a lawyer for nearly fourteen years. I reside in Fort Worth, Texas, along with my husband, three children, and our two golden doodles. My family is a blended family. This is a second marriage for both my husband and me, and we each have a child or children from our former marriages. Our road to becoming a cohesive family hasn't been perfect, and I know that we may not appear to be the perfect family to some as I and my daughter from my former marriage are African American, and my husband and two bonus kids are white. But our family is so full of love, and I hope my stories encourage kids who are also in non-traditional families that love is what matters most.

title: Tribulation Cult: Birth of a Remnant

author: Michael P

category: fiction • subcategory: general • date submitted: 2.22.2022 • author id: PhMiTr2122

word count: 175000

Content

Tribulation Cult: Birth of a Remnant is book 1 of a fiction series of the future. What will the political and cultural landscape look like in the mid-2100s? Will progressivism eliminate Christian values altogether? Will the Christian foundations of America stage a comeback? Will Christians be anticipating the end times? Or will the tribulation have come? Beginning with the emergence of the New Left out of the tumultuous 1960s, Book 1 of Tribulation Cult stretches over two generations to its climax in 2048. Center stage are four college friends who follow divergent life paths—two Christians who become ministers, and their liberal counterparts who rise to the summit of world politics. The journeys of the three focus many interconnected themes in the lives of men and women who must decide where they stand as the nation increasingly splits along liberal and conservative lines, and what role the church is meant to play in that divide. Will true Christians be viewed as a cult, increasingly ostracized from mainstream society, culture, and politics? These are only two of the questions the characters in Tribulation Cult are forced to grapple with in this deeply challenging spiritual drama written in the style of Phillips’ best-selling Rift in Time.

When Marc Simms, maverick pilot, joins a midwestern mission team as a cover for a diamond heist in an Afro-Caribbean country, he believes avoiding profanity will be his greatest challenge. Traveling with people, however, who excel in compassion but lack worldly or multicultural wisdom puts him in chaotic situations he could have avoided if traveling alone. During the nine-day trip, the charismatic widower intentionally charms each team member, except one, who warns missionary Trent Forbes that Marc has ulterior motives for joining the team. Forbes, focused on keeping everyone safe during pre-revolution riots in the dictator-ruled nation, ignores the warning. Marc’s scheme, including romancing the attractive green-eyed Kerri, unfolds without a snag—until the bodies start piling up.

Since his father’s murder, MICHAEL has been coasting through the stages of grief within the confines of his own heart, refusing to discuss his pain, his guilt, or his anger at God with anyone. He also never mentions his possible angel encounter or his suicide attempt. But, he agrees to attend a Christian camp for two weeks with other 17-year-olds who share his tragic fate – a parent dying in the line of duty. Michael assumes it will be a tortuous hotbed of death discussions and talking about his feelings, but it’s the only way he can both appease his mother and score a promised new car. Through journal entries, each camper’s unique grief journey is revealed. As the group tackles daily outdoor challenges, they’re each forced to wrestle with how the stages of grief are crushing their hearts. This proves to be more daunting than climbing the scariest of ropes courses, or facing an angry bear. But this six-pack of camper friends could be what leads Michael out of his grief solitude and into reconnecting with God, finding an unexpected romance, and discovering light where only darkness once dwelled. However, their self-work drudges up ugliness and their untamed anger could destroy the blossoming friendships and squash the beginnings of the healing process. But the camp’s rare albino deer could mysteriously become their redeemer and show them the way to forgiveness and growth, or her near-slaying could be what tears them apart.

title: The Story of Christmas: The Birth of Jesus & The History of St. Nick

author: Sarah F

Content

This book brings you into my home as I tell the story of Christmas to my children. Of course, we all know the story of Jesus's birth. But many don't know the history behind St. Nick and how he was a follower of Christ as well. Why do we leave our stockings by the chimney? For years, I struggled as a mother to explain to my kids the meaning of Christmas with Jesus and St. Nick. Every book I found told either the story of Jesus's birth or the story of Santa, but not both. My grandmother is the most giving person, and Christmas is her favorite time of year because she gets to be a "Santa" for someone else. I wanted to keep "Santa" as a part of our family tradition, so I wrote this book for my children so they would understand why we celebrate Christmas the way we do today. I recently posted about our tradition on social media and received so many requests from other moms for the text of the book that I decided to submit it as a children's book.

I’d like to introduce you to The Little Blue Lamb by Wayne Maxwell, Jr. and Illustrated by me, Jane M McCabe. This charming children’s story naturally is about a blue lamb who wonders why she happened to born blue and finds acceptance from baby Jesus. It is for children from 4 to 6 years old. It was first published in 2005 by Pegasus Publications (i.e. M David Samples). Now I am seeking to have it republished with a traditional house. (Mr. Maxwell died twenty years ago and Mr. Samples about five years ago.) Copies of it have become scarcer than hen’s teeth—if you try to buy a copy through Amazon it will cost over $450. It took some doing for me to get permission to republish the book from Wayne’s family, but recently I have overcome that obstacle. I think The Little Blue Lamb is destined to become a children’s book classic and am confident that the republication of this book will be a good source of income for its publisher. title: Jonah: To the Praise of His Glorious Grace

author: Angela L

category: nonfiction • subcategory: biblestudy • date submitted: 1.25.2022 • author id: LeAnJo36221

word count: 10000

Content

Jonah was one of God's prophets to Israel. His purpose was to testify of God's truth and grace to the world, but Jonah struggled to live according to God’s purpose for him. He held fast to a hope and purpose much less secure: his Israelite heritage, his ministry, his pride, and his own self-righteousness. But as Jonah wrestled with his conflicting ambitions, acting childishly and selfishly, God bent down to meet him with humble and gracious compassion. Through Christ, God pursues us with the same humble compassion that He demonstrated to Jonah.  In this study, we will learn how we might behold God’s compassion in Jonah’s life and ours, so that our lives may proclaim the grace, compassion, and mercy of God in Christ. This Bible study takes the student verse by verse through the book of Jonah using the "Observation, Interpretation, and Application" method of Bible study. Readers are given guiding questions to help them discover what the text says, what the text means and how they might apply it to their lives. It also has a commentary section, so that readers have a built-in verse-by-verse commentary to aid them in their study.

About the Author

I'm Angela Lee. I grew up in Virginia and attended college in South Carolina. It was in Charleston, SC, that members of a Christian campus ministry shared the gospel with me and I became a Christian. I was fascinated with the truth of the Bible and the comforting grace and mercy of Jesus. I studied and taught the Bible in various church and parachurch contexts for the next several years, including leadership for 5 years in Bible Study Fellowship International. In one of these churches, I met my husband, Philip, who was attending the local medical school in Charleston. In 2019, he matched for his residency program in Richmond, Virginia, where we now reside with our two daughters. In addition to being a medical spouse and mom, I am taking classes to pursue certification through Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. I write and teach Bible studies for my local church, and serve the Elisabeth Elliot Foundation as the staff writer.  I have also begun to write study guides for the Elisabeth Elliot Foundation to be paired with several of her books. One of these study guides, paired with Secure in the Everlasting Arms, is published on the EEF website. I have social media pages through Instagram and Facebook, and a monthly newsletter through Mailchimp that I plan to use for marketing.

title: The Badge and The Bible: A Unique Devotional

author: Kevin F

category: nonfiction • subcategory: devotional • date submitted: 1.17.2022 • author id: FiKeTh022

word count: 18700

Content

The Badge and The Bible: A Unique 31-Day Devotional Cop stories. Who does not like police accounts? Most people are captivated by the chronicles of law enforcement. Some police encounters are exciting and dangerous, others sad and tragic, and still others humorous and amazing. Police officers encounter all kinds of things and people. Cops see the best and worst of human nature and behavior, usually daily. Each duty shift involves new experiences, at least new in the sense no two encounters are the same. There is no such thing as ‘routine’ in the field of law enforcement. This is in part why police officers have many stories. I have selected some personal stories while patrolling Interstate 80 as a Nebraska State Trooper as springboards to bibllical principles and applications. My intent is to encourage and guide you toward knowing and following Jesus. The language used is simple vernacular, that is, ordinary language. My goal is to provide you with an easy and enjoyable read. I make every effort to use straight forward, plain language to hopefully create understanding, which is the essence of communication. The format of this book thus follows a realistic and uncomplicated format – police story followed by biblical principle followed by application.  I hope you enjoy the devotional, laugh a lot, gain a deeper respect for law enforcement, and, most importantly, walk with  Jesus ever closer. Thank you.

About the Author
The Lord gave me the calling, theological education, pastoral experience, and law enforcement background to write this unique devotional. The Lord called me into pastoral ministry from the Nebraska State Patrol at age thirty.  I was to be transfered into the air wing of the state patrol when doctors discovered a heart valve condition, which ended my state patrol career. This was both a blessing and a curse; the curse was accepting the loss of a beloved career, the blessing was a deeper relationship with Christ and a new calling in life.  After earning a Bachelor's Degree in Interpersonal and Group Communications and Master's Degree in Ministry, I was ordained and served in The Christian and Missionary Alliance as a lead pastor for two decades before retiring from the pulpit. I now serve as lead chaplain of a large hospital, and have reengaged the pulpit on a limited basis. The State Patrol, education, pastoral ministry, and chaplaincy gave me extensive life experience, as well as writing experience. I love spending time with family, reading, watching good movies, being outdoors, and plinking (i.e., the 'redneck' version of shooting sports).

title: Faithful God/Unfaithful Husbands: Discovering God’s Heart for Restoring Your Marriage After Adultery, an Inter

author: Peggy W

category: nonfiction • subcategory: biblestudy • date submitted: 1.8.2022 • author id: PeWiFa34321

Faithful God/Unfaithful Husbands: Discovering God’s Heart for Restoring Your Marriage After Adultery, an Interactive Bible Study will enable women whose husbands are involved in adulterous relationships to discover for themselves God’s breathtaking commitment to His Word and to their marriages. Readers will be reminded that it was God Himself who joined them in marriage and is committed to seeing their union survive. As the reader grasps God’s stunning perspective on this timeless institution, faith and hope for restoration will be renewed and determination galvanized to weather this storm. Faithful God/Unfaithful Husbands encourages women to feast not on the words of the author, but on the very Word of God. Participants will begin the 7-week interactive Bible study by examining the importance of taking God at His Word. They'll learn about marital covenants, vows, prayer, God’s view of divorce, submission in the home, hard-heartedness, forgiveness, and the hope of restoration. In the process, they’ll engage in Biblical word studies, delight in the solid exegesis of such Bible teachers as David Guzik, John MacArthur, and Kay Arthur, and have the opportunity for personal reflection and prayer.

About the Author
My primary qualification for writing this Bible study is that God flexed His incomparable muscle in sparing my marriage through two seasons of adultery. Day by day He infused strength and hope into my weary soul through His Word and His Holy Spirit. Now, having experienced first-hand “the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation,” He has qualified me “…to comfort those who are in (similar) trouble with the comfort with which (I) was comforted by God” (2 Corinthians 1:4). While I found it helpful during my own trial to hear the testimonies of others whose marriages had survived a similar struggle, the encouragement was short-lived; I knew I needed to draw from the deep well of God’s Word – the lone renewable and bottomless source of strength. Now, having finally made it to the other side, I’ve written the Bible study I wish had been available for me: a guide specifically for women desiring to hear from God in the face of marital unfaithfulness. My story is there to lend credence to my familiarity with the locale, but the answers and perspectives come straight from the Lord. I am a Registered Dietitian (RD) with a specialization in diabetes. I have been a Certified Diabetes Care and Nutrition Education Specialist (CDCES) for over 12 years and have been employed at Northside Hospital in Canton, GA for the past year. My husband and I have been married for over 40 years, live in Canton, Georgia, and are the proud parents of two adult sons and two beautiful daughters-in-law. Fourteen years ago, God turned the world upside down on behalf of our ordinary marriage, sparing it from certain divorce. Now, I'd like to share that good news with others undergoing similar trials, so that they, too, can experience God's breathtaking commitment to His Word and to their marriages.

title: The Monterey Mishna: DEUTERONOMY

author: Fenton W

category: nonfiction • subcategory: academic • date submitted: 12.23.2021 • author id: WaFeTh32621

word count: 50000

Content

The Christian theologian, Karl Barth, called Romans 1:18-32 the darkest passage of scripture. There, Paul says God ignores people who ignore him and turns them over to the lusts of their hearts. It’s a catalog of self-inflicted ruin. It is a dark passage, but to think it the darkest, Barth had surely forgotten Deuteronomy 28-29. There Moses foretells the tragedies that will befall the Jewish people because of their turning from him. Deuteronomy looks at three extended addresses of Moses as he reviews the Law, plus details of his death. The writing the book falls in a short period of a few weeks as Moses desperately pleads with Israel to be true to God upon entry into Canaan. The Monterey Mishna: DEUTERONOMY is a modern rendering of the text, with embedded insights into its story. It dares call itself a Mishnah because Mishnah simply means instruction. Like some rabbinic perceptions, some Christian traditions also miss the text’s full meaning. If you are: a Pastor, a Bible study leader, or merely interested in understanding the Jewishness of the Old Testament; a Rabbi or other Jewish person seeking a deeper relationship with G-d beyond a cultural affinity; or a Messianic Synagogue member struggling with the role of your traditions and the freedom that comes with grace in the Messiah; then The Monterey Mishna: DEUTERONOMY can be not only an understandable text, but new insights. It gives the non-Jewish believer Jewish eyes and draws the Jewish reader to see beyond its arcane procedures.

Was Ramesses II the pharaoh of the Exodus? It seems not since some archeologists place the fall of Jericho earlier. What’s the place of Exodus in the histories of the world? The Monterey Mishna: EXODUS is a modern rendering of the biblical text, with embedded answers to those and other questions. It dares call itself a Mishnah because Mishnah simply means instruction. Like some rabbinic perceptions, Christian traditions can also miss the text’s full meaning. If you are: a Pastor, a Bible study leader, or merely interested in the Jewishness of the Old Testament; a Rabbi or other Jewish person seeking a relationship with G-d beyond a cultural affinity; or a Messianic Synagogue member struggling with the role of your traditions and the freedom that comes with grace in the Messiah; then The Monterey Mishna: EXODUS can bring not only an understandable text but also new insights. It gives the non-Jewish believer Jewish eyes and draws the Jewish reader to see beyond its arcane procedures.

title: The Monterey Mishna: NUMBERS

author: Fenton W

category: nonfiction • subcategory: academic • date submitted: 12.21.2021 • author id: WaFeTh32621

word count: 62000

Content

The Monterey Mishnah: NUMBERS deals with the thirty-eight-year trip from Sinai to Canaan. Its central story is Israel’s faith-failure approaching Canaan. Rabbinic Judaism believes this to have been on Tisha B’Av, the ninth day of the fifth Jewish month. Solomon’s temple and Herod’s temple both fell on that date. Numerous other disasters have followed on Tisha B’Av, including the Nazi party instituting the “Final Solution of the Jewish Problem” in 1941. The Monterey Mishna: NUMBERS is a modern rendering of the text, with embedded insights into the events. It dares call itself a Mishnah because Mishnah simply means instruction. Like some rabbinic perceptions, some Christian traditions can also miss the text’s full meaning. If you are: a Pastor, a Bible study leader, or merely interested in understanding the Jewishness of the Old Testament; a Rabbi or other Jewish person seeking a deeper relationship with G-d beyond a cultural affinity; or a Messianic Synagogue member struggling with the role of your traditions and the freedom that comes with grace in the Messiah; then The Monterey Mishna: NUMBERS can be not only an understandable text, but give new insights. It gives the non-Jewish believer Jewish eyes and draws the Jewish reader to see beyond its arcane procedures.

title: The Monterey Mishna: LEVITICUS

word count: 60000

Content

Even Biblically-literate Christians neglect Leviticus. Few understand it, including pastors. Reading this Jewish book through non-Jewish eyes limits most. Those who seek to master it face obstacles: often a lack of non-technical commentary or its spiritualization. Too often, Christian writers have tried to hammer Leviticus into its spiritual meaning for the Church while Jewish reviewers stick to technical detail. Like some rabbinic perceptions, Christian traditions can also miss the text’s full meaning. If you are: a Pastor, a Bible study leader, or merely interested in the Jewishness of the Old Testament; a Rabbi or other Jewish person seeking a relationship with G-d beyond a cultural affinity; or a Messianic Synagogue member struggling with the role of your traditions and the freedom that comes with grace in the Messiah; then The Monterey Talmud: LEVITICUS is a commentary and translation that gives the non-Jewish believer Jewish eyes and draws the Jewish reader to see beyond its arcane procedures.

Finding it difficult to see Genesis beyond stories with moral insights? Worse, is it just a collection of Hebrew myths? If not, what’s its place in the histories of the world? The Monterey Mishna: GENESIS is a modern rendering of the text, with embedded answers to those questions. It dares call itself a Mishnah because the Hebrew word, Mishnah, simply means instruction. Like some rabbinic perceptions, Christian traditions can also miss the text’s full meaning. If you are: a Pastor, a Bible study leader, or merely interested in understanding the Jewishness of the Old Testament; a Rabbi or other Jewish person seeking a relationship with G-d beyond a cultural affinity; or a Messianic Synagogue member struggling with the role of your traditions and the freedom that comes with grace in the Messiah; then The Monterey Mishna: GENESIS can be not only an understandable text, but new insights. Content

Beth Paley’s home church in the States urged her to get away from her boyfriend who was not saved, so she spent two weeks’ vacation in the UK. This led to a teaching job in the UK which became dramatically life-changing for several people, including herself. As a staff member in a high-class girls’ school in southern England, Beth soon had problems with the headmistress. She had opportunities to teach the Gospel to her girls, but her zeal upset several people, in the town and in the Church of England in the small town of Pedford. Several months earlier that year, Father Andrew Cranston had taken charge of St Matthew’s. He had also upset several people by introducing changes into the Anglican Church. However, he successfully used some radical methods to minister to a group of disadvantaged people. Other people from various levels of society in Pedford were affected by these events. Father Andrew’s Easter sermon was like an earthquake for many, including for himself. Later on, a tragedy strikes at the heart of Andrew’s ministry, and at the heart of Beth’s work. This leads to a beautiful conclusion illustrating God’s ability to bring good out of bad.

About the Author

I am an avid reader and lover of the inky smell and crisp feel of the pages of a new novel. Writing descriptive stories, filled with unforgettable characters and exciting plots, has been on my bucket list since retiring as a speech and language pathologist.  My goal in writing this debut novel was two-fold: creating a mystery while showcasing characters with Christian values, and providing readers a story void of vulgarity, which seems to be prevalent in today's literature.

It is time we rediscover Moses. Who else: Divided the Red Sea? Struck a rock to provide water for thousands? Brought the most powerful nation on earth to its knees? Guided a multitude of ex-slaves through a brutal wilderness and prepared them to be a nation? Probably performed more miracles than anyone but Jesus? Obviously, God was the miracle worker. But it took a very special man to do all that – and still be called the most humble man on earth. He is the most significant figure in Judaism and near the top for both Christians and Muslims. Moses would have to be included among the ten greatest men of all time, so I went to several web sites to find out what others thought. Thankfully, most of them place Jesus at the top of the list, but nowhere did I find Moses. This is not a commentary on the Pentateuch, nor is it a biography of Moses reconstructed from what we know about him. It is an exegetical study of his “autobiography,” designed to help you apply the Scriptures to your life and make Moses come alive. It offers particular riches to leaders, both inside and outside the church.

How can you be sure that you are “in Christ”? The Bible says that the test of a living faith is to walk like Jesus walked: By this we may be sure that we are in Christ: whoever says, ‘I abide in him’, ought to walk just as he walked. (1 John 2:5-6) Amazing as it sounds, you can walk like Jesus! It’s God’s will for you, and he will help you do it. This book, the first of four volumes in the series “Walk like Jesus walked,” starts with a call for a radical decision to follow Jesus and become his disciple. From the words and example of the Master, you will learn about faith, hope, and love, and how to have a living relationship with him.

title: The Undivided Leader: Cultivating a Relationally, Emotionally, and Spiritually Healthy Self

How many leaders have you followed where something was “off?” Perhaps it was their relationships with other people. Maybe they were emotionally wild, like a roller coaster. Was their leadership like a spiritual desert, dead and dry? The Undivided Leader is a culmination of my life and leadership experiences so far. It is a simple handbook to guide leaders (whether fresh or seasoned) towards cultivating a relationally, emotionally, and spiritually healthy self. It is presented as a succinct, light-hearted, and easily digestible book that moves readers towards a holistic and undivided self. Each section follows a similar form—an outline of health in a specific area, a list of pertinent characteristics that demonstrate health, and steps to cultivate these attributes in one’s own self.  In many ways, it is a book on “followship” as much as leadership. How to follow what our deep “selves” are telling us and ultimately, how to follow the Lord as we lead. My hope is that, no matter the leadership pedigree, each reader will finish feeling encouraged, inspired, and prepared to take the necessary steps towards developing a healthy relational, emotional, and spiritual health.

About the Author
A business-owner, pastor, and professor of leadership, I have had the pleasure of experiencing many different organizational structures and leadership styles. That said, leadership, and specifically Christian leadership, is my passion. When all is said and done, my hope is to have spent my life in service to the Lord, equipping the next generation of healthy and well-rounded leaders. The Undivided Leader is a culmination of this journey so far.
