Writer's Edge Services: For over 25 years...

For over 25 years, the Writer’s Edge Service has been a method of effective communication between writers and major traditional Christian publishers for Christian manuscript submissions. Writer’s Edge, utilizing professional editors with many years of experience in working with major Christian publishers, evaluate, screen, and expose potential books to traditional Christian publishing companies.

We Help You Make the Cut

Because most Traditional Christian Publishing Companies no longer accept unsolicited manuscripts and no longer sift through what used to be called the “slush” pile, new or relatively unknown writers have little chance to be seen by a traditional publisher unless they have a credible literary agent.

We give careful evaluation to your manuscript.

The acquisition editors of these companies have agreed to view relevant manuscripts that “make the cut” at Writer’s Edge because they know they have been carefully screened and evaluated before being passed to them for consideration. Hundreds of authors have been successfully published because of Writer’s Edge Service. Even if you don't make the cut, your editor will give you vital feedback as to why and offer suggestions.

Here’s how it works:

Writers submit a summary description of their book proposal plus sample chapters, The Writer’s Edge editorial team evaluates it and each month, those manuscripts that show promise are sent to the acquisition editors of qualified publishers in a descriptive report highlighting the availability of these selected manuscripts. Publishers can then contact the writer direct if they are interested.

The writer pays a non-refundable fee of $99 for the initial evaluation. If your manuscript is not selected to be placed in front of the publishers, we will attempt to offer a short analysis of why, giving brief comments about the strengths and weaknesses of your manuscript. We will also offer some options and resources for ways to improve your manuscript and get the help and feedback you need.

Writer’s Edge Service!

Writer’s Edge Service!

"Writer’s Edge Service! That’s what I tell everyone who asks me how I got my book published. I always thought the hard part would be writing the book. But the hard part was finding a publisher. I quickly became discouraged because most publishers no longer accept unsolicited manuscripts. At first I was skeptical, but figured I had nothing to lose. So, I took a chance. Two months later, I received a call from an acquisition’s editor at Bethany House, a subsidiary of Baker Publishing Group. Had it not been for Writer’s Edge, I wouldn’t be a NYTimes bestselling author today. Thank you, Writer’s Edge!"

Grateful to Writer’s Edge!

Grateful to Writer’s Edge!

" I am grateful to Writer’s Edge for the thoughtful service and guidance it provided to this novice writer.  Not only did Writer’s Edge place my book proposal in front of a wide array of publishers, but the person who reviewed my book was very encouraging and offered much in the way of helpful advice.  After heeding most of the advice and making some necessary changes in my manuscript, my proposal was accepted by Wipf & Stock Publishers.  The book was then published and released in July 2021 under the title, The Fingerprint of God: Reflections on Love and Its Practice."

Writer’s Edge was a godsend for me

Writer’s Edge was a godsend for me

"Writer’s Edge was a godsend for me.  I gave birth to twins in November and did not have time to pursue individual publishers.  I prayed and told God that I was going to send my sample chapters to Writer’s Edge.  If He wanted me to write this book, I needed Him to provide a publisher!  He did!!!  Thank you so much for your service!!!"

I realized then how well respected the Writer’s Edge is in the publishing industry

"After realizing how difficult it was to get an agent, I submitted to the Writer’s Edge. The day after my work was posted two major publishing houses contacted me and asked to see a partial of my historical fiction novel. Although this didn’t pan out, two more major publishers contacted me as well as several smaller houses. I realized then how well respected the Writer’s Edge is in the publishing industry. Within 9 months I had a 3-book contract with Revell/Baker Publishing Group."

I was contacted by three Christian publishers.

I was contacted by three Christian publishers.

“After posting my book with Writer’s Edge I was contacted by three Christian publishers. Writer’s Edge has been responsive and professional in every way. Their evaluation was especially helpful in forming some of my later decisions re. promotion and target markets. I learned that entering the publishing world takes time. The process leading to a contract took several months, but posting with Writer’s Edge was my first step.”
